The Client

A medical training company — built by UK GPs, serving junior doctors across specialties.

AscentMed was founded by British GPs to help junior doctors pass the MSRA and MRCGP exams — the gatekeeping tests that determine who gets into specialist training across Anaesthetics, Radiology, GP, and other NHS specialties. Their courses focus specifically on the Professional Dilemmas paper, which is the most neglected and highest-impact part of the MSRA.

When we started working together AscentMed had the expertise and the content. What they needed was a complete digital platform — a membership site, course delivery system, webinar funnel, and a GHL automation backend that could take someone from a free trial signup all the way to a paying member without anyone doing it manually.

We built the entire system end to end.

What I Built

Every layer of the platform — connected and automated.

This was not just a course upload job. Every piece of the system needed to work together — the membership platform, the webinar funnel, the payment flow, the CRM, and the automation sequences that convert free users into paid members.

Full course and membership site built on WordPress. Tiered access — free trial, essentials, plus, and premium members only levels. Each tier unlocks different course content automatically on payment. Members can access their courses, track progress, and manage their subscription.

Webinar registration pages built and connected to GHL. Facebook and Google ads drive traffic to the webinar page. Registration triggers an automated confirmation and reminder sequence. Post-webinar follow-up funnels attendees into course purchases automatically.

Full GHL backend connected to the WordPress platform. Every signup, free trial, purchase, and webinar registration flows into the GHL pipeline automatically. Upsell sequences, follow-up campaigns, and trial-to-paid conversion flows all run without manual intervention.

Meta Pixel installed and configured across all pages for Facebook ad retargeting. Google Search Console connected for organic search tracking. Conversion events configured — webinar registration, course purchase, free trial signup — all attributed back to the correct campaign.

Stripe payment integration connected to the membership platform. When a payment is made, course access is granted automatically at the correct tier. Subscription cancellations revoke access automatically. Zero manual account management needed.

WordPress connected to GHL via webhooks and Zapier. Every user action on the platform — signup, login, purchase, course completion — flows into GHL and triggers the appropriate automation. All platforms speak to each other in real time.
The Webinar to Sales Funnel

How a free webinar turns into a paying member — automatically.

The webinar funnel is AscentMed's primary acquisition channel. Facebook and Google ads drive junior doctors to a registration page. From there everything is automated — nobody at AscentMed needs to follow up, send reminders, or chase sales manually.

Confirmation email fires immediately on registration. Reminder email 24 hours before. Reminder email and SMS 1 hour before. Show-up rates increase significantly with this sequence in place compared to registration alone.

Members on Essentials who have been active for 2 weeks receive an automated upsell sequence for Plus. Plus members receive an upsell toward Premium coaching. Upgrade prompts are timed to when engagement is highest.

Members who have not logged in for 7 days receive an automated check-in — reminding them of their exam timeline and sharing a specific lesson or tip to get them back into the platform.
